Biography:Ruscel Torres is a child prodigy who began playing the piano at the age of 7. Local church bands quickly recognized his perfect pitch, which led him to pursue formal training at the University of the Philippines College of Music and later at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music.With 13 years of experience as a pianist and 5 years as a professional arranger and composer, Ruscel has established himself as a prolific and versatile music professional. His arrangements span from small ensembles to full orchestras and include works from musicals such as Hairspray, Sunday in the Park with George, Hamilton, Gypsy, In The Heights, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Dear Evan Hansen, Hadestown, Company, and many more. In 2025, he arranged the Manila concert of Broadway Actress Keala Settle at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater, with Farley Asuncion (Musical Director). Earlier that year, he also served as Assistant Musical Director for Ang Batang Pio Reimagined with Kabaitan Bautista (Musical Director), produced by Tanghalang Banyuhay Inc., a theater group based in Valenzuela.Ruscel has collaborated with musicians from all over the world. He is currently the most sought-after video game music arranger in the Philippines, with some of his arrangements reaching over 8 million views on YouTube.As a pianist, Ruscel performs regularly with several bands and collectives, including DWTA, iluna, Akatsuki Band, Playtest, intensions, Tago Jazz Collective, and LTrio.
